GED Classes

Welcome to Faith Soldiers’ Education Ministry. We’re committed to empowering every person to achieve knowledge in various areas. The courses we offer are based on the number of volunteers available and schedule. The courses that are offered currently are: Technology, Math and Language Arts for GED.
The GED is a high school equivalency test that is recognized by educational institutions and employers throughout the United States and Canada. Every year, hundreds of thousands of individuals obtain GED diplomas or certificates as a first step toward academic or professional advancement.
All the courses are aimed at beginners, so you don’t need experience to get started. Each class is one hour long for an approximate duration of six months. Please refer to the calendar in this document for the class schedule. All courses are free!!!
Course Description
Technology – Hands-on training, classroom instruction and real-world computer simulations in Microsoft windows operating system as well as Word and Excel. These are software skill sets that employers seek on your resume. This will allow you to learn basic computer skills that can propel you in the workplace. You will also learn how to use the https://ged.com/ website in your first class. You will need to use https://ged.com/ to register for your GED exam. Course materials are available in class.
Classes are on Thursdays from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm in the afternoon. Please print a copy of the course outline before the first day of classes.
Math and Language Arts GED
Course text book used is Kaplan’s GED which is designed for classroom teaching. Some texts books will be available for purchase from your teacher in class. Supplies are limited.
Math: Classes are Thursday from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A course outline will be provided to you. This will allow you to track your progress and will aid you in self study. Please print a copy of the course outline before the first day of classes.
Biology: Classes are Thursday from 8:15 pm – 9:15 pm. A course outline will be provided to you. This will allow you to track your progress and will aid you in self study. Please print a copy of the course outline before the first day of classes.
Language Arts: Classes are Saturday from 9:00 am – 10:15 am. A course outline has been provided for you at the end of this document. . A course outline will be provided to you. This will allow you to track your progress and will aid you in self study. Please print a copy of the course outline before the first day of classes.
Social Studies: Classes are Saturday from 10:30 am – 11:45 am. A course outline has been provided for you at the end of this document. A course outline will be provided to you. Scheduling your GED EXAM:
Please go to https://ged.com/ in your web browser. It is a one stop place for you to schedule your GED test online which is easy to do. You will have to create an account which is free. You will be able to get additional GED® study materials and take a practice test. Also, you will be able to access information on the test, step-by-step guidance, and tips for after you graduate. Introduction to ged.com will be discussed in the beginning of your technology class.
